For those who believe the warm mongers

Hat tip to Lewrockwell.com for having posted this first. This is a very short video showing how we've been lied to with statistical data on global warming.

A Better World

This is a fascinating lecture by Hans-Hermann Hoppe on the current state of states that ends with the possibility of a new renaissance.

Dominion

... by J.L. Bryan is a dystopia type story similar in many respects to Orwell's "1984" but with a more libertarian slant. It is available as a free pdf file from here  and I highly recommend it.

I'm not going to give a full review as I personally prefer just to recommend it. If you've read many of my other postings you know where I'm coming from.

I found it to be a real page turner that I read in two sittings. It has a few really good lines in it and the following is an example.

“Let them go,” the bearded man said.
“But there could be a bounty—” Rico protested.
“Shut up.” One of the older bandits cut him off.
“We at least oughta siphon some gas,” another bandit said.
“Quiet,” the bearded man said.  “I served four years in the Marines, in the old world.  We
talked about something called honor.  You brats don’t even know what the word means.”
“Sure,” Rico spoke up. “My uncle told me, greed and honor.  Greed is killing someone
else for your own profit.  Honor is when you kill for someone else’s greed, and they keep the
profit.”

I was never a fan of country music

Back behind the bike sheds

Well it has been quite a while since my last post. If anyone is still watching this space here is a quick update.

I've started a new job. I still do as the site suggests but have also taken on a teaching job in a private school in Sussex. It is very amusing to me to have to go behind the bike sheds for a smoke at the age of 49.

Job Opportunity

This is a recruitment poster that is all over the London Underground. It shows a snoop watching two people making an exchange. One has money in his hand the other is handing over something in a plastic bag. It might be drugs or black market tobacco. Whatever it is it is not a mugging, murder, rape or anything most of us would really care about.

The KGB and the Stasi are apparently history but;

if you have no friends or want to lose any you may have, if you hate the idea of people trusting each other and getting along you too can become "extraordinary".

Coming Soon to a Workplace Near YOU

If you work from home, via the internet for instance, then your home is a "workplace" and as from July 1st you will need to display a "no smoking" sign outside your front door and you must not smoke in your workplace.

You might wonder how the government will know if you are smoking in your workplace. Well that is where the new government smoke detectors will come in - possibly linked with a webcam. These will come at a cost to the "workplace" owner of around £80+VAT.

This isn't overly intrusive because if you aren't doing anything wrong then you have nothing to hide.

Okay I made it up. But give it a year or so.
