How do you choose a political party?

How do you choose a political party?

Are you loyal to a party because of family, friends or class "identity"?
Do you study the issues each time and vote according to whoever comes closest to your own values? How did you arrive at those values?
Have you always voted a certain way and it is too late now to change?
Do you not vote at all because all candidates seem the same?
Do you abstain so as not to give any of them any kind of consent from you?
Do you abstain because you don't see any point to it?
Do you choose on the basis of looks, dress sense, hairstyles, manners?

What do you think of politicians? Are they all crooks? All honorable? Somewhere in between? Do you think it is possible for someone of real integrity to make it to the top? Do you believe that power corrupts?

Could you answer all the above on a postcard? Maybe you could but Probably not.

These questions, and a whole lot more, are now being discussed on The Big Debate forum. You might like to join in. The idea is to form a new political party.

I used to be loyal to the Conservative Party and even joined. However, I don't feel that David Cameron has championed traditional conservative values - ok, he's spoken out this week in favour of families, but he has not addressed a lot of major issues which he could have addressed. Instead, he attacked things like grammar schools and upset a lot of his electorate. Moving away from respect for Sir Winston Churchill has also been a very negative move. It is precisely Churchill and his values which he should be championing. I don't judge by appearances, I judge by substance.

I believe in the low tax, high incentive economy. An economy where hard working, law abiding citizens are rewarded for their efforts, and are allowed to keep as much as possible of their hard earned pay.

I believe that Governments should respect individuality, intervene less and allow us to take more control and responsibility for our own lives.

We need a party that will cut waste and bureacracy, tackle crime and end Politically Correct Interference in our daily lives. I want the UK to leave the European Union. I want the UK to abolish the Human Rights Act and put an end to the high levels of immigration. Currently we do not have such a mainstream party because the Lib/Lab/Con centre bloc dominates everything. I think UKIP are probably the closest thing to what we need at the moment. However , we may need some completely new parties.

The recipes include carb counts, food exchanges, calorie counts, and a whole lot more. You can also find them at Borders or Barnes and Noble look in the health care section.

Once you have talked to a dietitian, you won’t need such a book but I guess you can have it if you really want.The ADA has quit a collection. Check with them.They also a have a nice selection of books for kids who have diabetes.

A few things... if you watch Glen Beck he seems to think he is a preacher. Or worse he comes across as a complete nut. Some of the 9/12 types I have encountered via the tea party movement are cultists and a bit mad. I studied his list and have a problem with some of it, you seem to agree. Good examination of the list and useful in convincing that its all a bit much, if well intentioned.
